Gratitude is not natural.
Are you or someone you love going through a frightening, stormy time right now? In such times, at first glance some scriptures just don’t seem right. How are you supposed to “Give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 5:20)?
Bitterness, self-pity, and anger are natural
“Gratitude is not natural. It’s supernatural. If you respond to difficulties with bitterness, self-pity, and anger, that’s natural. If you choose to respond with gratitude for God’s presence, appreciation for your past and present blessings, and thankfulness for your eternal security, God’s supernatural Spirit lifts your heart above any problem.
How do you see your cross?
Gratitude is gas in your spiritual engine. It demonstrates to you, to others and to God that you see your crosses like Jesus saw his. Gratitude builds a healthy faith.
